- Read the standards manual from cover to cover:
This is absolutely necessary for an organization to understand what is expected from the Joint Commission.
- Identify a project manager:

- Perform a gap analysis:
Identify your organizations strengths and weaknesses according the Joint Commission standards. Review each standard one by one.
- Start your performance improvement process:
